Latitudes

Several years ago I started this coat. But then we moved to a warmer climate (29 degrees N), so I didn't finish it. Until just yesterday. After considering what the weather might be like in London (51 degrees N), I decided it might come in handy. Jerusalem (32 degrees N) is only slightly farther north than Houston, so it will be somewhat mild. (Please someone tell me--how can I type a degree sign?)

The fabric and the lining cost about a dollar a yard. I bought polyester batting and quilted it to the black fabric. The pattern was from an old coat.

The buttons are for looks. My machine won't do buttonholes on this fabric and I didn't want to do them by hand either.

The real fasteners are nine large sew-on snaps.

  1. Will you be in London for long? It is currently very wet and windy and rather cold here. Good weather for warm coats!

Hope all goes well with the move to Israel.
