Christ Church, Old City, Jerusalem

Pulpit - and Shimon

I want a door like this on my house. In fact, I insist!
(First of all I have to have a house to put it on.)

Boring, plus flowers

liqnot: kone kona konim konot kanti kanta kant kana etc. etc.

lizroq: zoreq zoreqet zaraq zarqa blither blather blither......

That was probably all wrong, but it's what came into my head. Really this isn't very exciting. Why don't y'all come visit me? Looking at the same four walls... I could go into the kitchen and look at another four walls. Better light for studying, too. Or I could go into the bedroom and look at another four walls.

There's nothing anywhere that's all that great by itself. What makes it enjoyable is someone to enjoy it with. If I had a dog or a cat it would help. I would have a pet for a friend and maybe it would be interesting enough to write about. I could take pictures of my beautiful black sitting on the kitchen table. Or my intelligent black cat looking out the window. Or my clever black cat playing with the light cord. Or my lovable black cat sleeping in my bed. Or my naughty black cat getting into the trash. But y'all might get tired of looking at pictures of my wonderful black cat. Well, then you could switch over to Leah's blog, and that would be more entertaining.

Time for pictures:

I planted some of these once and got one bloom, only it was red-orange-yellow.

No name.

This looks pretty much like lantana, only it comes in quite a few different colors here, so you forget it's just a weed. (Well, maybe it's not quite a weed.)

Having Fun

Eee! (EE is hebrew for island, and this is thousand island dressing.) It fizzed over after I opened it. It's not spoiled, it's just lively.

The question is, how do I get him to follow me home?

This boy is doing everything right. The dog is well groomed and knows how to walk on a leash, and they are both getting their exercise.

This lion thinks he's hilarious, and he is.
Or as Al says, "I'm colorful, and I ain't a-lyin'."

Dunes

Notice the solar hot water tanks on all the buildings. Somebody's using his brain.

These dunes we saw with our very eyes, but the camera picked up even more. Beyond the dunes are more dunes. Click to enlarge to see them better. Eerie.

Kibbutz and beyond

The bottom three pictures are cut from this one.

Kibbutz.

On our street

Now what did she write again? I think she's somebody famous.

These pictures were all taken from an overlook near our house.

Don't know what this building is.

Climb this tree for a good view.

There were red roofs in the distance, but this tree kept getting in the way.

This is what you see on all apartment buildings--panels and tanks for solar hot water! Free hot water! (But not all the time. In early morning or on cloudy days you have to turn on the boiler. It takes about an hour to heat up.)

Plants, of course

Lemons for lunch.

Ow.

Mmm.

Ahhh.
